Abstract
This report is of a healthy 19-year-old male with isolated monoarticular joint infection with Neisseria meningitidisinvolving the left knee. The patient had no symptoms or signs of meningitis nor detectable meningococci in theblood. This presentation is unusual. Complete recovery does usually occur, provided appropriate intravenousantibiotic therapy, joint aspirations, and/or washout are performed early.
