Abstract
Just as much history, or the past for that matter, requires a song, a covenant with God needs a story. Inevitably such a story plays with time as its key elements connect past, present and future in particular ways, often using ‘history’ to ‘fix everything’. This book explores a number of such histories and temporalities at play amongst a group of followers of a religious movement called the All Peoples Prayer Assembly (APPA) on the island of Malaita in Solomon Islands that have, invoking the Bible, entered a covenant with God for building a theocracy.
