Abstract

This paper presents a practical tool for integrated renewable energy planning, ensuring implementation of renewable energy strategies. The method is based on the MESSAGE and MAED models. A case study for Sichuan shows that this method facilitates renewable energy planning with multiple constraints in terms of resources reserves, economic feasibility, and pollution control. Furthermore, the model can be used for renewable targeted incentive policy simulations and cost-benefit analyses. Therefore, integrated technology and policy plans can be formulated and the system can be implemented as a general tool for renewable energy the planning on provincial level.
