Abstract
The Joint Select Committee on Parliamentary and Government Publications, which operated between December 1962 and May 1964, made the first comprehensive evaluation of the printing and publishing methods of the Commonwealth Government. Mr. Hawker's article outlines the conditions, which led to the appointment of the Committee and argues that there is still need to implement many of its proposals.
