Abstract
The origin and growth of Queensland's queer print media and its role in representing the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transgender, intersex and queer (GLBTIQ) community are traced, focusing on 'Queensland Pride' and 'Q News'. The conflicts that exist in the queer media and its inadequacy in appropriately representing the increasingly multifaceted and diverse GLBTIQ community are discussed.
