Abstract
A method for decomposing radio meteor wind data into the instantaneous velocity component functions is introduced. The technique employs finite element least squares approximation, and is spectrally unbiased. It is also limited in resolution essentially only by the data. The decomposition is demonstrated on known test function and on actual meteor wind data.
