    Abstract

The reduction of NO by methane over both Co-ferrierite and Co-ZSM5 catalysts exhibits a large deuterium kinetic isotope effect which indicates that the initiating step is the same in both systems. However, the product NO2/NO ratio is much closer to equilibrium with the ferrierite system. This may be the explanation for its better performance at high temperature.
