Abstract

This chapter discusses possible management strategies for water resources management under drought situations based on the use of historic precipitation and demand data coupled with up-to-date technology and quality hydrometeorological data recorded at stations constructed to World Meteorological Organization-recognized specifications in a real-time SCADA environment. To illustrate the practical implementation, a case study from the Segura river basin, Southeast Spain, was utilized.
