Abstract

This paper presents recent advances in Yb3+-doped germanosilicate fibers fabricated by the MCVD technique. The host is photosensitive so that gratings can be written directly into the doped fiber core in realizing single-frequency operation, initially at 1083 nm for spectroscopic applications. Presented also in this work is the latest result on single-frequency operation.
