Abstract

The dynamics of screw-phase dislocations in the wavefront of Gaussian beams were investigated. The beams were nested with multiple-charged vortices propagating in quadratic nonlinear crystals under conditions for second-harmonic generation. The simultaneous frequency-doubling and dynamical shaping of an input beam were discussed with a variety of light patterns. The results depicted the dependence of vortices on the input light and material conditions.
