Abstract

Based on existing researches on MAC protocol in cognitive mesh network, we propose a distributed reservation-based multi-channel MAC protocol. The protocol adopts TDMA access mechanism and a reservation-based resource scheduling method, and contains a collision avoidance mechanism, which effectively inhibits the problem of hidden terminal and exposed terminal. According to the characteristics of users in cognitive mesh network, we design a channel allocation and selection algorithm, which improves channel utilization. Finally, we conduct simulations on NS2 platform to evaluate the performance of the proposed protocol.
