Abstract

In multiuser MIMO systems, due to the inter-user interference, the power allocation issue with the Regularized channel inversion (RCI) precoding becomes a nonconvex optimization problem. A QoS- aware power allocation scheme was proposed in order to satisfy the users' QoS requirements and maximize the system sum rate. The feasibility problem was analyzed and a QoS proportional adjustment scheme was designed to make sure the problem feasible. Then, a successive geometric programming algorithm was proposed to obtain the optimal power solution. Finally, a sliding window based power allocation framework was presented for QoS constraint management. Numerical results show that the proposed power allocation scheme can effectively guarantee the users' QoS and significantly increase the system sum rate.
