    Abstract

The operating microscope and the translabyrinthine approach to tumours of the cerebello-pontine angle were first used by one of the authors (JPT) in 1962. The present paper was prepared in order to illustrate the experience of one of the authors (PAF) in a consecutive series of 367 tumours of the cerebello-pontine angle operated between 1984 and 1995. The incidence of various tumour types is assessed, facial nerve results analysed, and complications and mortality rates detailed.
