Abstract

A compact reverse G-shape UWB antenna with notch is presented. The proposed antenna consists of an L-shape slot cut in ground to achieve a band notched characteristics in the WLAN (5.15-5.825GHz) band. The antenna has an operating impedance bandwidth from 3.2 GHz to 10.9GHz, with a band-notched from 5.01 GHz to 5.96 GHz band. VSWR is less than 2 (S11 < - 10 dB) over the operating frequency band except band-notch frequency range. The gain variation of this antenna over the ultra-wideband range is 4 to 7dB and the gain at notch frequency -0.17dB. In the notched band region this is a significant fall in gain. This antenna can be used to stops the WLAN and HIPERLAN band with in the UWB.
