    Abstract

    Self Psychology is put forward as a comprehensive theoretical approach to conceptualizing the etiology of Borderline Personality Disorder (BPO). The tenets of Self Psychology are examined and applied to Borderline Personality Disorder. The unique contribution of Self Psychology as applied to Borderline Personality Disorder is highlighted and implications for treatment are briefly examined.
