Abstract

This paper presents a sensor fault tolerant control approach for grid connected photovoltaic (PV) system. Erroneous measurements of currents flowing from the PV system to the grid due to malfunctioning of the corresponding sensors can significantly disrupt the performance, as these current measurements are used by the associated control algorithms. The proposed approach incorporates a sliding mode observer based fault estimator along with H output feedback control. Effectiveness of the proposed approach has been validated through simulation studies carried out on a PV system connected to IEEE 13 bus test power system.
