Short-term electoral change in England: estimates of its spatial variation

    Abstract

    A method of estimating the entries of a voter transition matrix, at the constituency level, is used to provide better information on short-term electoral change than previously available. Inter-constituency variations are regressed against four sets of variables, producing encouraging tests of models of electoral change.
