Abstract
The research on signed language interpretation is of great theoretical and practical significance. This paper is an attempt to construct a model for signed language interpretation research (SLIR) in China within the framework of translation studies. The authors propose a three - component model which embraces ontology ,
epistemology , and applied theories , and analyze the most significant challenges facing SLIR in China.
