Abstract

This paper presents a stacked dielectric resonator antenna for ultra-wideband applications. The antenna is composed of a dielectric resonator and a thin dielectric segment, and is excited by a coaxial probe. A shorting plate is applied to reduce its volume. Theoretical results show that an ultra-wide band, from 0.8 GHz to 1.6 GHz, up to 67%, can be achieved.
