Abstract
Operation of an optical fibre solitary pulse laser with control elements in both time and frequency domains is demonstrated. The laser combines the advantages of both sliding-frequency and fast saturable absorber action to provide a tunable picosecond optical fibre laser with a relatively low self-starting threshold.
