Abstract

Ring dye laser cavities with two intracavity focal regions are used for intracavity second harmonic generation (SHG). Eliel et al. have published a frequency doubling arrangement for the Spectra-Physics 380A ring dye laser which they found, empirically, to give enhanced second harmonic powers. This arrangement and others are considered with regard to the overlap of the stability regions for the tangential and sigittal planes of the cavity.
