Abstract
Strategic priorities, objectives and plans of major Australian manufacturers are examined for compatibility, adoption and payoff. The paper is based on the findings of the 1990 Australian Manufacturing Futures Survey and concentrates on the competitive abilities of major manufacturers, and their objectives and plans translated into specific programs to improve operational performance.
