Abstract

This article examines past attempts at seeking to define the not-for-profit sector. The article also presents the results of an honours study at Macquarie University which sought to explore how Australian NFP entities, through annual report text, reflect the Salamon and Anheier (1997) definitional framework when discussing their operations.
