Abstract
Guine-pigs could be sensitized with penicilloyl (BPO)-protein and hadanaphy lactic reaction. Both incidences of anaphylactic shock and death rateswere 100% (10/10). After the challeng of the lung tissuer with antigens, the rates of histamine release from the lung tissues of the actively sensitizedguinea-pigs and the normal ones were 12.8±35%and 1.0±0.2%, respectively. From the unchallenged lung tissues. the rates of histamine release were 0.7±0.2%and 1.0±0.4%, respectively. The passive cutaneous anaphylaxis (PCA)test demonstrted the presence of anti-BPO antibodies in the serum of thesensitized guinea-pigs the titers were 64~128, and were specific for species. The results showed that penicillins anaphy lactic shock was related to histaminerelease, and anti-BPO antibodies in serum.
