Abstract
Analysis of the 2017 Draft Stage 6 English Specifications reveal significant issues relating to coherence, course integrity and rigour. The findings lead the authors, (4 past Chief Examiners of HSC Courses and a former Board Inspector, English) to challenge NESA to provide: evidence-based rationale for the proposed changes, abandon the word length proposal, design Syllabus aligned examinations models that do not narrow the quality, integrity and rigour of the HSC English examination.
