Abstract

A concise account of new archaeological discoveries from two major seasons between 2010 and 2013 that contributed to a new understanding of Qatar's pre-modern history and heritage. An account of the discoveries was part of a requested Supplementary Dossier written in support of Qatar's nomination of Al Zubarah Archaeological Site for inscription on UNESCO's World Heritage List (see links). The Site was ascribed on the List at the 37th session of the World Heritage Committee held in Phnom Penh, 16-27 June 2013.
