    Abstract

Patterns and structures are threaded throughout the Australian Curriculum—Mathematics strands and Proficien- cies (AAMT). Based on a series of classroom-based research projects an interview-based assessment, a Pattern and Structure Assessment (PASA) and a teaching program, the Pattern and Structure Mathematics Awareness Program (PASMAP) has been implemented across a range of K-3 grades (Ferrington, 2018; Mulligan et al., 2015; Mulligan & Mitchelmore, 2016).
