Abstract

The quasi-static variational method in Fourier domain is applied to suspended coupled microstrip lines for the design of suspended microstrip coupler. The golden section based optimization algorithm has been used to synthesize the suspended microstrip coupler for the optimum directivity, theoretically which could be above 90 dB. A 10-dB suspended microstrip coupler has been fabricated according to test the design.
