Abstract

Acid dyes containing formyl group were prepared using DEMAP-aldehyde as coupling compound which were subsequently converted to azomethine by reaction with substituted ortho-aminophenol. They were converted into 1:2 azomethine metal complexes using metal salts. The structure of metal complexes were confirmed by AAS. The heat stability and dyeing properties on wool and silk has been evaluated.
