Abstract
Ruthenium(II) complexes containing the bidentate imidazole-based ligands (MeN2H2C3)(2)CO L-1, (MeN2H2C3)(2)CHOH L-2 and (MeN2H2C3)(2)CH2 L-3 (where 1-MeN2H2C3 = 1-methylimidazol-2-yl), [Ru(PPh3)(2)H(CO)L-1]Cl 1, [Ru(PPh3)(2)H(CO)L-2]Cl 2 and [Ru(PPh3)(2)H(CO)L-3]Cl 3, were synthesized by the reaction of L-1-L-3 with [Ru(PPh3)(3)H(Cl)(CO)] in toluene. The complexes were characterised by NMR spectroscopy and the crystal structures of [Ru(PPh3)(2)H(CO)L-1]BF4 4 and [Ru(PPh3)(2)H(CO)L-2]OH 5 determined.
