Abstract
In preparation for scales of production beyond lab requirements, the Australian Proteome Analysis Facility Ltd. (APAF) evaluated membrane separations systems from three suppliers for Immunoglobulin Y (IgY) concentration. APAF compared flow rates and throughput of each system. The Kvick cassette system from GE Healthcare exhibited more than twice the throughput of the other systems, with an acceptable initial cost and overall long-range savings from rapid setup, owing to automated clamping of cassettes.
