Abstract
The Australian Law Reform Commission and the NSW Law Reform Commission are presently engaged in an inquiry about family violence. The terms of reference are extensive, requiring a focus on the interactions in practice of the many state and federal laws relating to family violence, including sexual assault. A Consultation Paper was released in April 2010. This article reviews the context of the inquiry, some of the issues raised in the Consultation Paper and some of the directions for change that are canvassed therein.
