"The angel who guards and saves the souls of mankind": a neglected Greek amulet

Re-edition of a Greek amulet now in Washington, dc (Dumbarton Oaks Museum) with new readings and detailed commentary. An interpretation of a close relation of the inscribed prayer, which petitions an angel for protection, to Judaism, or even membership of its bearer in a Jewish community in the Black Sea region in particular, is proposed.
