    Abstract

    The meeting of Manichaeism and Buddhism is proven by Chinese Manichaean and Middle Iranian texts, and also more or less by some Old Turkic Manichaean fragments apart from the Great Hymn to Mani and some incerta. This paper focus on one aspect, a textual testimony concerning the incorporation of an episode in the biography of the Buddha attested in the Old Turkic Manichaean corpus.
