    Abstract

    This discussion brings together professional singers, researchers and educators who highlight issues, provide awareness and aid resolution to address the challenges encountered when singing in popular culture musics. The discussion therefore focuses on the many, and at times disparate, issues facing contemporary singers. Each of the contributors involved in this discussion provides a unique perspective and identifies issues by reflecting on their respective professional practice. In doing so, the challenges of singing in popular culture musics are comprehensively discussed. Each contributor concludes by discussing pedagogical strategies to address the challenges of singing in popular culture musics today.
