Abstract
This paper outlines a study of the design and development of a Performance Support System (PSS) for a large-scale project. The project focuses on integrating technology to support learning associated with a K-12 visitation program at the site of the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney, Australia.
With the plethora of rich content associated with this site, the project is an ideal setting for developing repositories to store electronic resources in the form of teaming objects. This technology has developed from the international movement of reusability of learning content, in the form of learning objects.
To support teachers in developing effective pedagogical design of technology supported learning experiences within this program, a performance support system is being developed. This tool is seen as an essential support for teachers in planning their class pre-visit, site visit, and post visit experiences by setting appropriate learner tasks within the context of this content rich setting.
