Abstract

A collection of 28 papers which cover each of the major Australian Early to Middle Proterozoic provinces. The volume is organised so that the continent-wide review papers appear first, covering geochronology of fold belts, petrology, palaeomagnetism, crustal development and structure. The remainder of the papers are grouped according to province: Albany-Fraser Belt; Antarctica; Arunta Inlier; Broken Hill Block; Davenport Province; Gascoyne Province; Gawler Craton; Georgetown Inlier; Halls Creek Orogenic Domain; Mount Isa Inlier; and Pine Creek Inlier and Litchfield Province. An integrated multidisciplinary approach is used in the regional characterisation of the provinces to provide a comprehensive reference to Proterozoic terranes. -E.Redpath
