    Abstract

Ticket-splitting is becoming increasingly common in American national elections, according to the results of voter surveys. Interstate variations in the amount and nature of ticket-splitting have been estimated using entropy maximizing methods. States are classified according to the degree and direction of ticket-splitting in the 1976 elections.
