    Abstract

Volume Two of the first comprehensive historical grammar of the Rhaeto-Cisalpine or 'Padanian' dialects native to Northern Italy and Canton Grisons in Switzerland, tracing the evolution of modern morphosyntactic structures from Vulgar Latin with a view to Celtic substratal and Germanic superstratal influences. Includes an experimental translation of a biblical text into a synthetic Rhaeto-Cisalpine koine, and a list of Padanian toponyms, hydronyms and choronyms.
