Abstract
Examines the behaviour of private sector multiplant enterprises in British manufacturing looking at their overall location and patterns of locational change and adjustment, along with the possible reasons behind these. The significance of multiplant companies in the urban-rural shift and the 'new spatial division of labour' at the interregional scale are explored. -T.Hoare
