Abstract
This essay investigates a number of historical biofictions about the Tudor poet Thomas Wyatt’s relationship with Anne Boleyn, arguing that the persistent drive to read Boleyn into Wyatt’s verse represents an understanding of literature as a confessional mode. Wyatt becomes the Romantic poet-genius, inspired by his muse, Anne Boleyn.
