The Pt8Zr ordering transformation

Platinum containing 11 at.% zirconium is shown to undergo the A 8B ordering transformation, forming Pt8Zr with the Pt 8Ti structure. The order/disorder transformation temperature for this alloy is determined to be 1068.8 °C ± 2.5°C. The kinetics of this transformation is rapid, unlike other reported Pt8X alloys.
