The question of 'Argentinidad': The self-image of Arab and Jewish ancestry in recent Argentine literature

This contribution explores what remains of the different ethnic groups that helped form the Argentine national identity, and the extent to which they have enlightened or blurred the process of creating this controversial 'argentinidad'. To this effect it looks at two such ethnic groups - Arabs and Jews - and tries to elucidate through the latest writings of two Argentine authors the Arab and Jewish community's still unresolved identity as 'new Argentinians'.
