Abstract
This recording is a reimagining of the original jazz composition 'The Serpent' (Robson), a composition that was first performed by jazz trio and subsequently arranged and performed by Ten Part Invention. This solo performance builds on the notion of the melody taking precedence as well as demonstrating the effectiveness of concise statements in a solo setting.
