Abstract

In this chapter we seek to link Health and Physical Education (HPE) with current theorising in the field of literacy studies to provide a transdisciplinary approach to literacy practices which encompasses both mind and body. The chapter will conclude with the construction of a multiliteracies project which connects our theorising to pedagogic practice in ways which embrace the teaching of literacy in the broadest sense, and HPE specifically.
