Abstract
The rapid development of new media technologies challenges traditional models for producing and distributing television. Not only are an increasing number of users bypassing terrestrial broadcasting channels in favour of cable and satellite, but there is an emerging shift towards using the Internet for video distribution. This article canvasses trends in internet television and explores the claims made for the new technologies.
