Abstract
Third Person takes place in the ruins of Berlin not long after the fall of Hitler’s Third Reich. At the same time it is a post-modern sequel to Shakespeare’s Merchant of Venice. Portia has survived the end of the Third Reich and now must confront the role she played as a lawyer in supporting its corrupt laws.
