Abstract
The CAD of dual-mode HE11 dielectric resonator (DR) microwave filters is extended to include time-domain methods. S-parameters are computed for a four-pole dual-mode HE11 DR filter using the FDTD over both wide and narrow bandwidths, and are compared with measured values. The spurious suppression predicted using the FDTD agrees very well with the measured results, justifying the use of timedomain CAD methods for dual-mode DR filters.
