Abstract

To Be Honest contributes to my ongoing research focusing on female representation in live performance. Primarily I make solo performance work, where I am the performer. As auteur director/choreographer for solo work To Be Honest, my approach involved strategies for contemporary performance research and representational innovation. To Be Honest was propelled by research questions: Who is/are the subject? How to perform the subject and the narrative, where the medium for the narrative is the body of the performer? In this case, the subject/narrative being the dancer, Dance, and the director.

Auteur director/choreographer of live solo performance in collaboration with Laura Boynes. Produced by Performing Lines premiered WA State Theatre Centre WA, 28-31 August 2019.
