Abstract
The Asia-Pacific region has experienced high economic growth rates in the past decade, although the rate of economic growth varies considerably from country to country. Furthermore, the region is becoming more highly integrated with the global economy. These changes are leading to a rapid increase in the adoption rate of new information and communication technologies (ICTs). The paper examines the adoption of ICT by major transnational corporations (TNCs) in the Asia-Pacific region in the context of their global strategies. It gives particular attention to Japan and Australia. The information equipment and securities industries are examined as case studies. -from Author
